Call around to see how the masses feel
and hope that the voters are keeping it real.
Call up someone you haven’t herd from in a while
and see if you can still get them to smile.
ask the age old question, do you care
and then wonder if that question was fair.
Ask for the advice from someone who doesn’t matter
so then at least your ego won’t shatter.
Just say hello at 12:30 in the morn
and then ask who is the next to be born.
Speak of half truths and lies
and don’t ask about the big surprise.
Show affection in spastic explosions
while you deal with the numbing notions,
Notions that we are not who we think
and that we don’t escape when we drink.
Notions that your never here when I need
and it has become an addiction that I have to feed.
Call around to see if I still care
Call around to see if I’m still fighting fair.
