I used to say I was going to die alone jokingly…
but now I choke on that line knowingly..
I used to think I’d be with her forever…
I knew something pure, and that’s never.
They say if your addicted to someone, it’s over
even more so, if you think you really know her.
For you’ll make the mistake many of men have in the past
thinking that something like love will always last…
For time and opinions are fleeting as a daydream
since no one is, really as who they seem.
These masks we wear on a daily occasion
to save our hearts and hands from abrasion.
These lies we tell ourselves to hide the inner purity
These deceptions we think up to cover our insecurity.
