Smackwhomped (A good scare)

by Aaron Howard

Shell shocked from the disguise you wore
Discombobulated by your asking for only more
Stuttered, my speech with your breath in my ear
Sweating like I know that this is my true fear
Searchlights on the horizon for my self-control
Smackwhomped from the loss of my soul

Shaking like a leaf on a tree,
Because you’re here with me.

Stumbling on my words down a proverbial flight of stairs
Screaming for help, but it always seems like nobody cares..
Tackling my fears as I claw into the air
but nothing gets you in gear like a good scare.

Author's Note: I made the word up a long time ago to refer how you feel the day after a rave.. or a hard night of drinking.. basically another word for hangover...
