the jack daniels of smiles

by Cymbre Dolphay

what this girl wouldn't give
to drink in the flavor of his lips
so sweet and forbidden
like that first taste
of stolen liquor

she is a rare flower
that lives on the radiant smile
of a strangely normal boy
the sun cannot hold the heavens
to the brilliance he commands

together they would be confusing
her weirdness...his normalcy
she has the fire of raindrops
he has the jack daniels of smiles

Author's Note: Again, something Beth had to say. It was lovely and I ran with it. She knows of who I am speaking here. My thanks Bethy:)
