Love and Friendship Among Seahorses by Martini KoyI dove in a tranquil pond
With two seahorses swimming in it
One of them and I played a little game
A game so full of fun and folly
That night I won't forget.
The moonlight was on
Reflecting it's glow
Against the silvery waters.
I knew not that sea horses
Do fall in love...
So I cherished and treasured
That new found discovery
Of this insatiable feeling
Of love and friendship.
The moon ceased glowing alive
And the stars went off one by one
When I realized that we were not alone
In the cool waters of love and friendship.
The other seahorse swimming quite gracefully
Was the one my love loved more.
I knew then that the play should end
For my heart becomes crushed whenever
I see them locked in each other's embrace.
Alone I swam out of the pond
Alone I kept on making my way out
Of that pool so full of emotion.
To the river, to the long and wide river
Full of opportunities
Must I go, must I go.
I leave me two lover friends
To enjoy themselves to the fullest
In their own aquatic kingdom
Of love and friendship.
I will sing and dance and whistle
And I may shed a tear or two
As I travel towards the river
Content in the thought of leaving.
Two good seahorses on their own
Happy together in each other's arms
Joyful with each other's presence
In their pond of love and friendship
Embracing...embracing... 05/31/2003 Author's Note: Male seahorses have the ability to become pregnant.
