remembering forgotten (moon landing) by Andrew S Adamswatching a tired waltz
i am reminded that the notes
are flat, the dreams are shot
and the days are forgotten.
a happy tired television
throws lights up on the screen
a box and its radiation colors
causes quite a scene-
slowly blurring out the cold
and beckoning the worship
of a generation, that remembers only
when the first video aired on mtv-
the only moon landing they will ever see.
and i am out there in outer space
intercepting satellite transmissions
seeing what you will see in a
few mere seconds.
blown through a black hole
the stars of memory destroyed.
i will let go,
remembering that time we danced
that tired waltz
where the notes have gone flat. 04/26/2003 Author's Note: i'm in a funk, this is something trying to break out of it.
