Revenge (Ode to Road to pardition) by Aaron HowardRevenge, eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth
The ultimate sacrifice, lie for a lie, truth for a truth
Footsteps hidden in the midnight rain
Bartering with revenge to return this pain
Blood pools and runs down the drain
After all this revenge, what did I gain?
Will I have to run for the rest of my life,
over the loss of my only child and wife?
Will I have to die to appease this blood lease?
Will there finally, one day, be peace?
Revenge is such an underrated term these days.
It will hunt you down in so many different ways.
Just when you turn around to look at the sky,
someone is there to shoot you, hang you, maybe even crucify.
Revenge, the sweetest dish served cold
Revenge, the pillow knockout when youre old
Revenge
How sweet it is
Everything comes around in this biz
The Revenge factors
It might happen in the bath, with your guard down and out
Three to the head
no time to scream or shout
It might happen
In your car, where you didnt get that far
Harsh words on the turnpike ends up with you getting a 9 mm spike
Through the windshield, road rage rears its ugly head tonight
As you take four to the chest and waist,
finally one to the right side of your face,
You slide into oncoming head-on and end up dead by dawn
Possibly,
They followed you home, called you on your phone
They know you; they know youre all alone,
Then they come and strip you down to the bone
Take from you what are your most dears
and confirm all of your worst childhood fears
Monster in the closet, but this ones real
cuz all over your skin, his breath you can feel
Crushed in the hands of revenges iron grip
as you feel the pain of this life slowly slip
Off to dreamland my sweet dead angel
cuz in this life, earths too full..
Or just Maybe,
Walking up to the house, Opening the door
just to find all you knew and loved.
Still bleeding and dead on the floor..
You turn, but its too late you learn
Plastic bag revenge
No air
Just your mild struggle
To dreamland
The slow death has always been the best revenge
since it seems you always have a reason to avenge..
To look into the slipping eyes of your nemesis
as he drifts off to death-lands kiss
To have the satisfaction to their reaction
as your take away their greatest fraction.
Revenge, the cost of your loss, misery and pain
Revenge, the equation of alpha and pack persuasion gone insane
Revenge, this underdog achiever to come back one day a believer.
