Dreaming on the page by Aaron Howard
Smoldering candy insides the mouths of sixteen year olds in the midnight hour.
Sweet to my tongue, bitter in my belly while we dance away lifes sour.
Syrup running down her thighs as a river runs between us.
and we conquer the jargon-al mess and all the proverbial fuss.
Stepping in order in dreamlike sequence, step into your new lie
Step into this new dream, to live and clutch onto, until you die.
Spectacular mental images occurring too fast to comprehend.
Hyperactivity on an unconscious level, speeding through the mental forests bend.
Typos and corrections in the midnight hours spent whirring away at this page
where you write so long you dont know yourself from your age
Days spent wrapped in your own mental world of stories and fiction
Where you let your mind run free without restraint and restriction
So hard to deal with the daily grind when you finally find yourself daydream blind.
Whats the use to shuffle, whats the use to curse
since in this world, it could always be worse.
