Forever

by Cymbre Dolphay

Write my name in blood
upon that lonesome grave
where I shall lay
forevermore

Plant orchids for my daughters
so that they grow fair
and appreciate the beauty
of what I left behind

Ask them to watch the stars
so that they know my face
is smiling down for them
and watching as they grow

Upon this earth
I leave my mark
in flesh and blood
two daughters to live
while I could not

passion of the sun
temperance of the moon
bless both in thy name

Author's Note: This is my version of a poem that was written for two of my very dear friends. It was originally in Latin, so it isn't the same, but just as heartfelt.

Meaning is the manisfestation of the basic human urge of survival. A refined survival. Every other urge is just the byproduct. This derivation of meaning is so beautiful.
