sunday is falling (versions)

by Andrew S Adams

hours fade to passing
the dark night has consumed the day
the world having to bear
a new survival again.
the speed of time drops to nil
dragging its feet in the tar
watch it all boil black the hearts
and watch the greed overshadow.

the eyes searching for the truth
fail to see the the hurt
as our evolution shatters into stinging chards
our step is no less careless.
those who continue to walk on remains
look to their bleeding feet,
eyes glazed with novacaine.
oblivious to the pain.

so, the glass world has broken
different shades of dark divide
the slow painful burn of wind
separates the mass
until there's no resemblance
of what once was.

the unity of nations
a broken joke of cruel hate
once good intentions
have been overcome by the state.
once joined hands separate,
and brotherhood ceases to prevail.
