Caught

by Vikki Owens

So, out of that amazing smile,
out of that beautiful life,
out of those eyes
and that skin

walks my husband
walks the life as I will know it.
Very soon.

The winter comes cold,
and I am not used to it.
But you catch me at my coldest
and
I am warm again.

I've watched you grow
and now you have surprised me
and everyone who loves you
at the brilliant light
that you have become for
us.

For me.

You put this ring on my finger
and you converged with me...
and now I feel more complete
than I thought I would ever feel.

When the fall comes again
we will be married....
When fall comes
you will have already caught me....
