Poem by thom ingram and Gary Hoffmann (with two N's) by Gary HoffmannWe, the above-mentioned poets, hereby
declare that every tenth poem must be about
a woman named Dawn. Not just any
particular Dawn, but THE Dawn. Let's face
it she is beautiful, intelligent, speaks two
languages fluidly.
We want to declare her our muse and make
sure she never leaves our lives.
We make any excuse:
help her with unsolvable Physics problems.
allow her to ruin the end of Sixth Sense
stare at her during student trainings.
We make any excuse to talk with her:
help her interpret chemistry
ruin the end of Fight Club for her
ask to come to poetry readings
(to read poems about her)
We declare her our Muse
and shower her with our poems, spontaneous and planned
we take her kisses and her magic box
we allow her boyfriend to 'hang out' with us
(as if he is really cool)
We make any excuse to see the rising Dawn.
