~Weathering The Storm~

by Jacki M Butler

The wind is pounding on the window
The ice is pelting against the house
It is freezing cold outside
But inside I am wrapped up
Warm and safe in your arms
The storm growing outside
The furthest from my mind
Because in your arms
Nothing could touch me
The snow is swirling now
The wind begins to howl
None of it matters now
The soft gentle kisses
Your voice drowns out the scream
Of the wind through the trees
The candle light flickers
As the lights have gone out
The aromatherapy of the incense burning
Could you ask for a better way
To get through a cold and treacherous storm
Than to weather it with you?
