Under contract by Aaron Howard
We said that we'd always be together
thoughout the calm and stormy weather.
We just lied to each other to feel at ease
so we could do anything that we'd please.
We'd smile as we knew it was going down in flames
and we'd play some petty mind games.
We'd act like we wanted that superior control
and then forget the things in it's whole.
We'd fall head over heels for each other
until we chose to forget and find another.
We'd talk about our checkered past
and about relationships that didn't last.
We'd talk about the lack of bodily contact
and how it felt like we were under contract.
We'd stare deep into each others eyes
and we'd cover of lives with little white lies.
We'd sit around and bitch about all we'd lack
and then laugh about the breech in contract.
