Under my sheets...

by Aaron Howard

Here, safe in my arms.
Away from the worlds harms.
Away from the traffic, away from the heat.
Here in my arms, making me complete.
Your eye's closed in slumber, all at peace.
For on my love, you hold the lease.
You are the water bottle of love in this Desert of pain.
You help me to be rational, yet at the same time insane.
You make me squirm and shout
and when there's a problem we work it out.
You get love from me like water from a glass
and we both seem to comment on each others ass.
We laughs like friends and cry like poets.
Feelings and how we're not afraid to show it.
Lips so soft, a hug so hard to see stars.
Hard to see how women are from Venus and men from Mars.
When you and I connect, it seems at the soul.
Needing the other to make oneself feel whole.
A freckle and a tear.
A time away, a time held dear.
A kiss and a sob.
A faraway place and a job.
A life away, a life incomplete.
Too much room under my sheets.
