Your mothers arms...(Ode to childhood) by Aaron HowardLay down in your mothers arms
and hide from the worlds harms.
Blush sweetly basking in love
and know when to have enough.
Dream into a sea of bliss
and keel her soft kiss.
Sleep off into a warm sea
and bask in your reality.
For a baby's in the sea of slumber
and for reality's got your number.
For in a decade or so it will all change
and this blissful world will be so strange.
It will never be the same naive little one,
So enjoy it while you can, because this is called fun.
Enjoy every minute like it's your last.
because your ignorance is fading fast.
For they will make you have to work
and you'll learn the meaning of the word Jerk.
You understand that a bill isn't on a duck
and you'll find new meanings for down on your luck.
You'll know what it's like to see the sun
and you'll miss these days called fun.
You'll dream back and wish you were here
since then you'll understand it a bit more clear.
You'll wish that you could have it all over again
and that wasting it was the real cardinal sin.
