Urban Decay

by Aaron Howard

Thunder on the horizon, spring showers in the air..
The summer breeze hiding, without a whispering care..
Discovering raindrops falling from the humid night
with the lighting flashes blinding my dimmed sight..
Thunder rumbling and splitting the sky
as the clouds swirl and raindrops fly..
Coldness sweeping as the storm ascends
and with another crack, the storm begins..

Raindrops making music at my feet
and with the water coming down in sheets..
Cleanse the world of it's clenching dirt
Wet me to the bone, past my work shirt..

Wash away this mud from my day..
Help come to heal this urban decay..
