the whispery clouds floated lightly through the sky
like waves upon the ocean
or fields full of cotton
lit up only by the orange and blue light
given off by a lightening bolt-shaped cloud
striking the horizon and breaking apart the sun

only this does the Angels see
when from upon the earth and ground
nothing but black to be seen, with small glimpses
of twinkling stars fading in and out of sight

wanting to reach out and touch the wondrous sight
but being forbidden for it is behind glass that is not to be broken
for to break such glass, to touch the scene, would cause only death
