I reach out to you
You are standing close
Yet just out of reach
My fingertips barely brush your arm

You turn and look at me
I can see the confusion in your mind
You smile, not knowing if you should

You turn away and question yourself
My eyes fall to the ground
Knowing that you are going
Not completely gone, but nearly

I step back and take one last look
As you walk away I want to scream out
For you to stay always

You already know that

I turn away with much pain in my heart
I look back and you continue
Walking away from me and us

With this final glance I bring a smile

Through my perfect memories of us
