We call her winter... (Freeverse Hybrid)

by Aaron Howard

The blizzard slipping into town like a lover drunk on juices..
The piles sneak up to my window sill to peek coldness thru the cracks..
No life is unaffected as she leaps and bounds thru the streets..
Spinning in circles in times square.. showing the whole world her beauty
defined by curves of snowflakes wrapped around her soul..
she shows you how truly mother nature has control..
Slowing us down to a grinding halt on cinder and ash..
with white knuckles gripped in a death grip on our dash..
Wrapping the stop sign in a white blankey to keep it cold...
Speaking in the breeze with her howling melody..
turning the hideous airfield into a white field of splendor
the beauty of this lady I love to call winter...
