this is a poem I wrote in ASL; here is the English translation

I tried
tried to love
tried to find
beauty in people
in the past
it never succeeded
I always found only ugliness
I felt lost
and covered my eyes from the world
not wanting to see
all of the hideousness
but you
you showed me your beauty
and showed me the world's beauty
and showed me again that everything is beautiful
you, who cause the stars to shine
you, who makes the moon smile
you, who makes the sun love
you, who renewed my heart
sunsets are less lonely now that you're here
so join me
join me in my dreams
and let the night dissolve
