what is it about me that you hate?
is it something I've done to you
or is there merely nothing within me worth loving?
is the void within me so great
that it blocks any shard of goodness
I once had in me
and do you recognize this so clearly
that any chance I had of receiving your love

what is it in me that created this spite in you
or is it my very existence that perturbs you so?
there was a time you thought me charming
