your eyes haunt my dreams

by Gary Hoffmann

your eyes haunt my dreams
blue amber twilight
amidst tears from distant suns
and drops of beautiful forever
your face – greek statue
carved from pale hazy nebulae –
shines brighter than a thousand quasars
as I wander past astral moons
and drink from ethereal suns
golden starshadows dance around
like the rings of far off saturn –
celestial frame for twin divine seas
cascading like night
down to the soft pearl valleys
and dark Europan shore
of lost angelic peaks
hiding beneath the pale envy
of forgotten memory
I dream of your ghostly eyes
and of when last I saw them
staring deeper than infinity
at the mindless swirling chaos
within my soul
