once again eternity by Gary Hoffmannonce again eternity
weighs down on me
with all the terrible
intent of the Universe
an inkblot cosmos
swirling chaotic maelstrom
of imagination
dreams of painted shadows
red and yellow cities
of hell-fire picturesqueness
and plasma dances
to the music of mindless gods
(are they happy?)
soundproofed against the
destruction of eons
the screams of a trillion
e'er-dying Things
murdered by -- as all Things are --
entropy and disillusionment
a sort of all present truth
invisible to the now
while opaque centuries burn
with foreverness
why must Infinity sleep?
