The Bountiful Life

by Martini Koy

Isn't it wonderful to wake up refreshed
Each morning of the day?
To see the warm rays of the sun so bright
And hear the chirping of the birds
Perched on the tree by the window.

Aren't you amazed
By nature's bountiful goodness?
Could you endure life's tremendous excitement
As you live it day by day?

The world is full of wonders and delight
It is teeming with fun and opportunities
That even makes living more precious and worthwhile.

Our lives are indeed full of worth and value
Though not free of tragic irony.

Limitless it may seemingly appear
Life isn't in reality.

We are made of flesh
Corruptible with the ravages of time
Our breath we will give up in time eventually.

In our hands we hold the meaning of our lives
By our hands we shape what our lives will be.
