Rekindle

by Martini Koy

Could a falling star glow bright again
After it has fallen from its domain?
Could it sweep past before someone else again
And make wishes come true?
Or will it forever remain a pebble
That fell from the heavens once in its lifetime?

Why can’t it be like the sun
That still can rise after it has set?
That still has so much warmth
After shining for so long?

What becomes of passion
After it has become cold and silent?
Will it be like a falling star
That never shall glow once more?
Will it be like the sun
That still can shine after the clouds have gone?

Love, like the stars and the sun
Is from the bosom of mother nature
And so I am quite assured
That it can also sparkle
Over and over again.
