life, being like an ocean
surprises us in ways we could not imagine.
the once calm ocean
can, without warning
be as turbulent as a battlefield.
it hits us even when our anchors aren't fastened
to the rocks of the ocean's depths.
it catches us by surprise.
many times we aren't just prepared
to face the candidness of the changing sea.
