Falling

by Martini Koy

I was walking down the street one day
When lightning struck me.
I fell on the ground only to see
The thunderbolt was you.

Rising from the fall
I saw my knees were wounded
Just like the way you sliced my heart.

I kept on walking
As blood ran down my legs
Like scarlet-colored water
It keeps on dripping down towards the concrete road.

As I walked pass a mirror
I saw my face was bruised
And my hands, too were not so lucky
From that fall I had.

I thought these were the only cuts I had
But as I turned at the corner of the street
I saw your face and realized
My heart was sore as well.

Oh how painful my whole body is
From the outside to the inside
Just because of loving you.

Unreasonable it may apparently be
I can’t let go of you.
Difficult it might be
Let me love you still.
