Consuming Passion

by Martini Koy

Consuming passion why do you haunt me?
I awake with you in my thoughts
I retire with your urging still in my soul.

Flee O fiery passion,
Burning up my every breath.
Never knock at my door once more
For greeting you I shall not do.

From what pit or heavenly room do you come from?
Do you mean to harm or are you heaven’s angel?
Your reason I desire to know
Reveal to me what you want,
And then I’ll understand.

O stay burning passion,
0f you are indeed divine.
Remain in my heart,
If its void you will fill.
Run through my spirit
And give me thy sweet sting,
For even in shame I must admit
That no matter how I fear your haunting,
My heart longs for you, O burning passion!
