I knew the answer
Before I even spoke
the question

why did I ask?
Because for once
I wanted to be wrong

For to be right
About this would
Only bring the pain

The pain I wanted to avoid
For the pain hurts the trust
And the trust takes forever to rebuild

For as long as the trust
Is broken, the pain continues
And forever is a long time to be in pain

I don’t think I could handle
That much pain,
Could you?
