Decisions...decisions...decisions...

With only about 3 months until the "BIG" day, I'm trying to decide the best way to arrange things, to have the children involved, to appease the familes, etc, and to still have a ceremony that suits us.

Mark's not giving me a whole lot of feedback or input, he doesn't want anything big, just family and close friends... but his father has 7 brothers and sisters, he has two sisters, and there are quite a few cousins, neices and nephews. He suggested the small Lutheran church near where some of the senior members of his family live, but I really don't want to get married in a church, and not a Lutheran church, since I'm Baptist.

My idea is a small outdoor ceremony underneath the oak tree that was planted by his great-great grandfather. A very semi-formal/casual affair. He would like to wear jeans (he would wear black ones), I want a tea-length (at longest) dress, something maybe a little retro/50's style, fitted at the top, fuller in the skirt... anyway... just trying to decide what exactly would fit us....

His family is German heritage, my family is predominantly Scottish and German. I like some of the Celtic handfasting traditions, but it's often more associated with Pagan weddings, and I don't know quite how to incorporate that with my Spiritual beliefs.

I know that I would like our children involved: 3 boys; 13, 12, and 7 and 1 girl; 10

Some thoughts... his son (13) could be his best-man, my oldest son could present me, his daughter the bridesmaid/flower girl and my youngest son the ring-bearer.

I don't have any close friends to be bridesmaids, so there's no worry about a large wedding party.

For the reception, it's just gonna be a good ol' fashioned barbeque and hoe-down... just have to figure out for how many people... and since the wedding and reception are all taking place in the same place, do we invite some people to the ceremony and reception and others to the reception only?

decisions... decisions... decisions.... I better hurry up ans start making some it's only 3 months away!
