The Journal of Andrew S Adams teen poetry, the mars volta, a jazz fest and other topics

Ahoy Hoy! it's been a while now, hasnt it? my poetry has slowly ground to a halt, i do apologize for that; i've been soaking in alot of poetry, alot of life, alot of music... etc. i've got a notebook, keeping everything under lock and key, however, until i feel comfortable with revisions and emotions.
ANYWAYS.
first off, i got second place in the teen poetry contest, like whoa. Seriously, i wrote that poem on a whim after reading one of BCP's poems... lol. crazy coolness. i entered the contest for... well, i dont know why. but my many thanks to admins and such, whomever the voting pannel consisted of.
Topic two: The Mars Volta. I just picked up their 'de-loused in the comatorium' album, and it is fucking amazing. i've listened to it 5 times since getting it tonight. TMV is At the Drive-in, minus the half that went on to form Sparta. I thought sparta's 'wiretap scars' was one of the best released last year. i was blown shitless when i listened to this; it doesnt even compaire. This is everything ATDI could be, and more. it is just something amazing to listen to. the cover booklet alone makes it worth the $9 i paid for it. best album i've bought since radiohead's 'Kid A'. i shit you not.
And for the third installment, the hot summer jazz festival. My dad is a producer of this thing, and it's a weeklong jazzfest that goes on every year in minneapolis. i saw dave brubeck on tuesday. the guy is 81 fuckin years old, damn near the best piano player i've ever seen. i've been working downtown since thursday, hawkin merchandise for the people performing. if you're in the MPLS area, i suggest that you guys come down to peavy plaza (on nicollet mall, next to orchestra hall) and chill out. so... yeah.
et cetera et cetera, this is getting long. AND IT WILL BE LONGER!
i'm reading the 5th harry potter right now. it is honestly one of the most depressing kids books i ever read. like whoa. it's great writing, just frustrating as fuck. you get the emotions of the characters. i guess that's the mark of a good author...
one last bit, i talked to maggie l. hall tonight, for the first time in forever. she's a cool kid.
the gay pride festival was today, i didnt get to go... :(. they had cyndi lauper and everything. oh well... it's all gravy now. w/e... i'm not so sure me dad would exactly go for the whole me-being-gay thing.
hey, i should really be off... i need sleep.
i bid you all a goodnight!
