new member applicants....

i dunno, i'm having a small qualm with the new member applications..
(this is where you ask 'oh andrew, will you share?')
(and this is where i say, 'why yes my dearies, gather round!')
well, here it is.
does anyone notice how all these new applicants are seemingly trying WAY too hard? i'm speaking of mainly the essays. they all go into this pseudo-deep-thought trip that's like, "without art, we woul not exist and cease to be because it is fundamental to the very existance it created...' or some way out hippy-shit like that. maybe it's just me, but it's nice once in a while to see someone who shoves the bullshit aside and stops trying to impress everyone...
but i'm weird.
