fire without heat,
imagine, the world
turning glazed eyes
to the rippling shadow
you cast beneath
your glowing countenance,
skimming milk from the open sky,
the roots in your feet
spreading beyond the reach
of your arms, wide-eyed,
the conception of a smile
still a ways off,
you beautiful, departing, glory!
