real and unsettling,
i hope this morning the
dim light behind the cloud
did not move you to shiver,
roll over, and consider another
shoulder to rest your heavy head upon.

| Posted by Marie Andreas on 08/23/08 at 05:49 PM I like the last line the most for it can be viewed two ways, one way it's an offer to let someone lean on ya . . . or it could be seen as telling the person to go find someone else. Either way the simple imagery and strong emotion really lets this poem have impact. Super job! :) |
