Dream a Little Dream

by Tony Whitaker

I feel my dream
falling slowly
through wet forests,
caressed by dewy leaves
and tips of velvet branches,

I stop to see
- moonlight
dancing through the trees.

I feel the thrill
as I pass the gate,
deep and wide,
to see my escape,
to the other side,
to feel you beneath me.

I was thinking of the mama cass song lol. I adore the doors but am not aware of that one song. Cool poem though! :)

If my son was here he would tell me which line came from the doors. I raised a rock-n-roll child and he had 'The Doors' played at his wedding. I am guessing that it is in the last stanza though. I really love this Tony.

Wow. I inhaled as I read it, and exhaled at the end. It was that good. :)

The kind of letting go that makes it so much more delicious. You express it well. Lovely poem.

This made me smile... there is such sensuality in the first verse!
