Daylight

by Jeremy Magee

Dawns mellow
yawn pulls the sheets
off the earth
and kisses her full
on the mouth.

The slender tongue
of a cloud drifts
along his curved
jawline.

The soft grass
cups underneath
and curls his
open toes.

Softlight sucks
on hanging lips
and pushes to
the crashing seas

Daylight ends
like it began,
slowly quiet,
and dissolving in color.
