Hathor's Thighs

by Rafika Anderson

Gently cascading hills
red rocks and blazing boulders
a bleak moonscape littered with desert-bred trees
straining to survive
burdened by clear blue sky interrupted
by occasional electric threads
tumbling down to the wide open sea
waters flow through rugged paths
carved from rock strewn aside
over centuries of tan, scorched soil
yearning for heaven's reward
to sate dry wadi beds

Sun gleams off the glass-smooth Arab Sea
greeting ample stands of ripe date palms and lush jade vistas
puddle marshes thick with brittle brush
sage colored, wind-shaped art
distant peaks taunt the barren firmament
soft ocean waves lap worshipfully
at the feet of unclothed mountains
the silent absence of life -- noticeable
en route to Tiwi

I love the smooth, flowing imagery of this. Stunning landscape you've put in my head.

This is a beautiful image, and the title only adds to the feeling of hallowed ground and a heaven earth connection.
