Posted by Chris Sorrenti on 08/24/05 at 12:37 PM A pretty poem from start to finish Jon. I especially like the choice and sound of words in the closing three lines.
Posted by Alison McKenzie on 08/24/05 at 02:06 PM I love all the blending of the metaphors here...pearls mixing with water, water mixing with sound, the dawn possessing voices that project light, that light becoming the sound of whispering thunder, eternity having an ear. Your words are brilliant.
| Posted by Rula Shin on 08/24/05 at 05:42 PM "No Mind...Awakening" - yes, the realm of knowledge beyond thought is the greatest of all awakenings. That you have used the Morning Pearl as metaphor, a precious and beautiful representation of what CAN BE, beheld as beauty for its irregular shape as much as for its rarity, is a poetic touch of the most sensitive kind. "radiating into
a thunderous expanse
a whisper
in the delicate ear of
Eternity" - Thunderous indeed is such a true and deep stillness of mind, such silence does expand infinitely within us, allowing us to merge with WHAT IS without, inside becomong outside and outside becoming inside, a glimpse of true living, ever present...no mind. This piece, though different than your usual style, holds no less heart and vision of the kind of beauty and joy that SHOULD BE. That's what I saw. Wonderful write as always Jon.

Posted by Tracey Paradiso on 08/30/05 at 10:31 PM I love the feathery arc of this piece, from the quiet of the pearl to the chorus of firelight to the whisper of forever. A soothing, elegant mini-meditation.
Posted by Leslie Ann Eisenberg on 09/05/05 at 11:11 PM all i could think after reading this mantra is that this is what it must feel like to be in the zone when you meditate. i'd love to attain that kind of stillness, cyclical consciousness, a sense that breath and life revolve, ending and beginning all as one.
Posted by Julie Adams on 03/23/06 at 06:36 PM I could live in the cosmos of your words, so gaping and yet poignant...lovely, Jon...peace
