in your eyes
I see everything
that will never be
between you and me
I see hope
patiance

happiness

and everytime you laugh
it reminds me of nights past
watching movies together
and the long talks
that would soon follow

I can't help but shed a tear
at what has become of our friendship
the twisted mind games
that we played unknowingly
and the pain
we unintentionally inflicted upon each-other

when I see you smile
it opens me up
allows me to feel alive again
for the few brief moments I get to spend with you
but
when I do
I think of all these things
and I am so thankful
that I've met someone like you
and I can't help but smile
